Registering interest in testing
If you register interest on this website, we collect your first name, surname and email address so the MotoBBuddy team can contact you about tester invitations and testing updates. Netlify processes and stores the form submission and sends a notification to motobbuddy@gmail.com. These details are not displayed publicly. Registering does not automatically create an app account or enrol you as a tester. To withdraw your interest or request removal of your registration details, email motobbuddy@gmail.com.
Your account uses your email address and display name. Your display name and community posts are visible to other signed-in riders. Buddy chat, uploaded attachments, forum membership and moderation records are stored using Google Firebase. Firebase also processes device notification tokens, app analytics and crash diagnostics.
Ride recording uses your location, including during an active ride with the screen off. Saved routes, photos, video references, garage records and settings are stored on your device. Location is shared with a buddy when you accept a time-limited tracking request; you can stop sharing or block that rider. Emergency contacts and rider details support optional crash alerts. SMS alerts are handled by your mobile provider and can fail; this feature does not replace emergency services.
Camera and microphone access support recording, voice controls and buddy voice. Buddy voice uses LiveKit to carry audio between participants. AI requests are processed using Google Gemini through our backend; prompts can include the ride or profile information used by the feature. Google Maps processes searches and navigation requests. Google Play handles purchases; our backend stores a purchase token and verified entitlement, not your payment card details.
We use these services to provide the features you choose, maintain security, diagnose problems and handle abuse reports. Providers may process data outside your country under their terms. Shared messages, downloaded media and SMS may remain with recipients after you remove your copy.
You can remove saved rides in Trips and revoke device permissions in Android settings. Blocking prevents new buddy contact and tracking. You can request account deletion below or email tippetpaul@gmail.com with the subject MotoBBuddy account deletion, from the address used for your account. We may verify ownership before removing the account and associated data. Requests and reports are reviewed by the developer; submission is not immediate deletion. We will explain any records that must be retained for security, fraud prevention or legal obligations when processing your request. Google Play subscription cancellation is separate from account deletion.
Older installations stored rides without an account owner. Those records are preserved separately and are not automatically assigned to a new login. Contact support if you need help recovering them.
